Holidays

Aiiih. How time flies. It's already Thursday.
So what have I done during the holidays?
Spent money. Had fun. And of course I did some work. *cough cough*
It's true you know. If there's one person who really knows you, it's your mom.
She was asking what I bought when I went shopping. And she guessed it on her first try. Not that I bought only one thing. It was a plus thing too that I bought her something too. Teeheehee.
Ok, back to what I bought. New shoes. Luckily she didn't ask how much it costed my bank account a.k.a. my dad. Also bought a top. And err....an apple slicer/corer. Don't laugh at me! My mom laughed at me. And even louder when I told her how much I spent cos she said she could have gotten one for much cheaper. HMPH. My dad on the other hand was just wondering if it can cut through a really hard apple or a fuji apple. Well, only one way to find out.
Hmmm. My tests results are online. But can't seem to see anything when the page loads. Oh wait, I see something. Ok, only managed to see 1 out of 3 of my results. BAH humbug.
Ooo. That reminds me. Some of the shops over here already have christmas stuff on sale. A bit too early don't you reckon?
Oh now I see all my results. ARGHHH. Who's the fella who got full marks! Quite happy with my results. At least it will make up for the previous horrendous one.
In other news, I finally have a bigger sink!
I love Grey's Anatomy!!! If you have no clue about what it is, where have you been?!?! I'm just kidding... but it's really mean of them to leave us hanging with the last epi of the season. And who's ever heard of a season with only 9 episodes.
As you can tell, this post is just filled with random stuff.
Watched Howl's Moving Castle and Wallace and Gromit. Both of which I enjoyed very much.
Bought yet another CD. I have too many. But it's good! Go check out Rooster. Fantastic.
How can it hurt when I feel no pain
How can it heal if I lookd the same
How can you lose if it's not a game
How can you love if you're never gonna change

Ish. I'm still feeling tired. A sign telling me that I'm getting older. Don't remind me. Which reminds me, my friend's bday is coming up. Time to look for something to send to her.

Till the next time when I have something to blog about
Ta!

Salt

Salt.
Jamie Oliver uses a whole lot of it to cover his chicken and cook it.
Someone (i wonder who...) puts some in a bowl, under her bed (my friends and I have this theory for the reason but will tell you another time).

Me?
I have salt.
I hardly cook.
I use it for my mouth ulcers. I currenlty have 3.
No. I don't stuff a pinch of salt on my ulcer. ARE YOU CRAZY???
I mix them into warm water and gargle.
I just did that.
Only, I think I put too much salt.
It stang my ulcer.
My mom promised me it wouldn't. >_<
Damn you ulcer.

And that would go into the list of things you would never want to know about.

It's the holidays.
WHOO PEE DO.
More days to wake up late to.
Not really actually. They're changing the sinks at our rooms tomorrow and tuesday. So I have to clear the kitchen tops and all. And they might be coming at 9.30am. Bleh.

Enjoy your holidays people! (Too bad for those who are already working. Wahahaha... Just kidding.)

Apple Pie

I like my apple pie to be crispy on the outside. Cold on the inside.

Mid-Autumn Festival

Happy Mooncake Festival to everyone!
Hope you will all enjoy eating your mooncakes with the moon and tea. And your lanterns. Don't burn down anything.
And remember me when you look at the moon.
Wahahaha...I'm just kidding.
Enjoy yourselves. Even if you're not eating mooncakes.
I shall leave you with the story behind how it all began.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festivity for both the Han and minority nationalities. The custom of worshipping the moon (called xi yue in Chinese) can be traced back as far as the ancient Xia and Shang Dynasties (2000 B.C.-1066 B.C.). In the Zhou Dynasty(1066 B.C.-221 B.C.), people hold ceremonies to greet winter and worship the moon whenever the Mid-Autumn Festival sets in. It becomes very prevalent in the Tang Dynasty(618-907 A.D.) that people enjoy and worship the full moon. In the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 A.D.), however, people send round moon cakes to their relatives as gifts in expression of their best wishes of family reunion. When it becomes dark, they look up at the full silver moon or go sightseeing on lakes to celebrate the festival. Since the Ming (1368-1644 A.D. ) and Qing Dynasties (1644-1911A.D.), the custom of Mid-Autumn Festival celebration becomes unprecedented popular. Together with the celebration there appear some special customs in different parts of the country, such as burning incense, planting Mid-Autumn trees, lighting lanterns on towers and fire dragon dances. However, the custom of playing under the moon is not so popular as it used to be nowadays, but it is not less popular to enjoy the bright silver moon. Whenever the festival sets in, people will look up at the full silver moon, drinking wine to celebrate their happy life or thinking of their relatives and friends far from home, and extending all of their best wishes to them.
More info (including the origin of mooncakes and more) can be found at: http://www.chinavoc.com/festivals/Midautumn.htm

Shopping!

Finally, all my tests are over. So I treated myself. By watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on tuesday right after my test. It's a really good show. Quite hillarious too. But the other patrons were just too, stony? No one really laughed except for Syl and I. Haih...
Watched The Perfect Man yesterday. It was alright. The usual movie with the predicatble ending. I forgot that Carson Kressley (in case you're wondering who in the world he is, he's one of the Fab Five. you know...from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?) had a minor role in it. As usual, he was just being his usual self.
I went on this crazy shopping spree yesterdaywith Hui Yin. It must have been all the days of being cooped up in my room and library that made me do this. I am now 100 bucks poorer. Aiyaiyaiyai. My shopping habit is such that when I start buying stuff, it takes a great deal for me to stop. Er, I mean...it's really hard for me to stop. I mean why would a great deal stop me from buying more. Lalala..I'm just babbling.
So a total AUD100 spent on a pair of thongs(ei, thongs = slippers over here) and err 5 shirts. *Shhh* Don't tell my mommy.
So just when I thought my day ended with shopping (nonono, i didn't shop more ok...) we went to uni again after getting home for like 10 minutes. Cos, Syl managed to get us some last minute tickets to this mooncake festival thingy organised by a few clubs in uni. Last minute, as in REALLY REALLY last minute. Anywho, managed to eat some mooncake and was entertained by a few talented singers. Including this guy who played the er-hu.
I took this pic a while ago and forgot that I had it in my camera.

It's suppose to be hailing...

On the way home yesterday from shopping, Hui Yin and I saw a rainbow! So the moment we got back, I went to grab my camera and started snapping away.

The no side of it. I meant...the centre of the rainbow.

If your eyesight is real good, you can see a double rainbow.

One more week till holidays. I will survive.

Insomnia

Seriously. The past two nights have been hell. Why is it that I have to stare at the ceiling for 2 hours before I can fall asleep? It's not like I'm going to bed earlier than usual, or later than usual. It's my normal time! And in the end I only manage to sleep for less than 8 hours because I will wake with a jolt when I find out that it's 10 something already.
Maybe it's this guilty conscience of mine. Telling me that I have so many things to study for my upcoming tests tomorrow and tuesday. Telling me that I should be hitting the books and not the haystack yet. Or maybe it's the thought of my test on thursday that's bugging me. I have this funny feeling that I will flunk it. Which is not good, since it's worth 25%. I know I should let go of this thought, but it's taking me longer than expected.
Which reminds me, I have to go "cry" in front of some people. Cos they were expecting one question to come up and it really did. I didn't really study that part cos there was no way I could memorise the whole entire thing. I only knew how to do half of it. So I guess, half is better than nothing, right?
Am currently now webcaming with May Poh! It's really funny cos we kept saying we HAVE to meet up when we go back (she's in Sydney) but for the past 3 years, that has never happened! I'm so happy to see her on the web-cam! Since I've been so used to see this face nearly everyday back in secondary school and college. That, is one of the wonders of the Internet my friends. But I guess the bad thing about it is that...hmmm, shall I blog about my embarassing moment.
Scenario: Was playing around with the new msn feature: the voice clip. The ability to send over voice clips with a mic.
Who: Was web caming with my dad with the sound and mic ON. And chatting to Hui Yin.
What: Hui Yin sent a voice clip to me something bout goodnight or "loolala". And so...I decided to send on in return. It's only polite to do so, see. So I err started saying good night and sang the looney tunes theme song. Moments later, my dad typed this : "Are you trying out for Australian Idol?"
I just sat there frozen for a moment. Wondering what he was talking about before it really hit me like a ton of bricks that he did in fact hear me recording that message. *bangs head on the wall* How stupid can I be?! Anyway, it's alright. Cos I'm sure I provided some entertainment to him.

I don't get some people. Who gives an excuse of "No time for you" as a break up excuse. Especially when you've been together for 4 years?! So what if you are in diff places to pursue your education?! BAH. And it's at times like this that I have not much to offer for consolation. Haih...

2 down. 2 more to go!

Gosh, there are so many movies that I want to watch!
Charlie and the choc factory, Red Eye...
Erm, I'm sure there are more just that I can't remember at the top of my head now. You have to understand stuff that's swirling around in my brain is all auditing or trading systems related.

Dada!

Ding ding!

Had a nice long sleep last night. Nearly 11 hours. Must have been due to my aching back.
It's still aching. Anyone knows how to err "crack" my back so I will feel more comfortable?
Now my shoulder is in pain. What the...And don't you say that I'm getting old. Although...my whole body has been creaking a lot today. STILL...
Oh I remember accidentally cracking my neck yesterday during lecture. I tell you the things that annoy me during this lecture and only during this subject's lecture is that:
1. Why does it take the whole entire lecture theatre to shut up only a minute after the lecturer says" Let's make a start." For goodness sakes, just SHUT UP! I pity the poor fella.
2. Now, just cos I pity him does not mean that I really like his way of teaching. He goes too slow! Thus making me fall asleep.
3. This happened yesterday. This girl, seating in front of me, KEPT and I mean KEPT, turning around! She must have been looking for a friend but to do it so often?! Another thing, this person behind me kept smsing. You know how annoying the button sounds can be when your trying desperately to not fall asleep and to listen to the lecturer?!
HAH. Now I don't feel so irritated.
Was reading my textbook for auditing but gave up. Firstly, I can't stand the lecturer for this topic. And also... how come there's a whole chunk of stuff from the textbook missing in the lecture notes?!?!?! LYNN. Do I still have to read it...
The next 2 weeks will be a bit of hell for me. 2 tests on thursday. 1 more on monday. Another on tuesday. Hopefully it will be easier for me to breathe after that. It should be since I finally get to watch Charlie and the Choc Factory (sorry Hui Yin, you've gotta wait!) and Red Eye (a gentle reminder to you Amy, not that you need one).
My brain feels squishy (don't say that I have no brain). I can't wait for the holidays...
p/s: for some strange reason, i'm craving for a banananana muffin.
